Alexandra Martinez-Turano
Consultant
Collaborative Change-maker | Generous Spirit | Authentic Connector
Alexandra (she/her) brings a wealth of experience and passion to Diaz Inclusion Consulting. Fueled by her own story of adversity and identity as a Latina, Alexandra is deeply committed to amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups. She champions their stories and guides organizations towards building a more equitable future. While her career path – spanning academia, operations, and a decade in classical music – may seem diverse, Alexandra identifies a common thread: a lack of social and cultural understanding and connection. This disconnect and her non-linear journey, ignited a passion for inclusion.
Years spent in operations, administration, and performing revealed a hidden challenge – the gap between cultures and education. Alexandra empowers individuals and organizations to achieve a more balanced understanding of inclusion. Through open conversations and intersectional education, she works with clients to reimagine tradition as inclusive spaces that celebrate diversity and center human dignity. By advocating for a collaborative approach, measurable success, and robust accountability tools, Alexandra believes we can create a world where everyone feels valued and heard. A proud alumna and current Board Member of OperaWorks™, a leading non-profit empowering opera singers worldwide, Alexandra actively supports their mission to cultivate new audiences and empower singers.
Alexandra, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brings a deep dedication to the arts with a Bachelor of Music from the University of New Mexico, a Master of Music from the prestigious Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, and a Professional Diploma in Operatic Studies from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
